How to backtest an investment strategy

In order to backtest your investment strategy, you need to configure the two data

  1. Duration: For how many years you want to backtest ? (by default, 5 years)
  2. Amount invested: How much is initially invested (by default 10,000 USD)

Then you can edit the different tickers in colors (you can find the right tickers corresponding to your stocks using Google Finance) The first line is considered as the benchmark.

The backtesting spreadsheet will simulate an investment in each of the tickers and display which one would have performed the best.
